Darren Close - Personal Real Estate Corporation

Darren’s career in real estate spans back over 2 decades, coming full circle with his return home to Victoria in 2022. Prior to a profession in real estate, Darren enjoyed a tenured career in hospitality as a classically trained “Red Seal” Chef and Restauranteur.  As the 1^st of his 2 boys entered the picture, the transition from hospitality to real estate began.  Initially licensed in Victoria, family life lead him to settle in Kimberley BC, where his passion for the profession was further enhanced while obtaining additional licensing in strata management(2009), a Managing Brokers license,(2010) and Property Management(2011).  In 2012, another opportunity came knocking with a nomination the former Kootenay Association of REALTORS®(KAR), now part of the amalgamated Association of Interior REALTORS®(AIR). This was the beginning of a 12 year leadership journey in “organized real estate”, where a deep understanding of all the boards/associations and their roles and functions was unraveled, from local, to provincial, to federal. Darren eventually served 2 consecutive years as Chair for the Kootenay region, and as his term came to an end, he sought an appointment to the British Columbia Real Estate Association(BCREA). Darren enjoyed 5 years with BCREA and ultimately served as Chair, and naturally Past Chair, to wind up his final term at the provincial association.

Darren truly appreciates the world of real estate and is committed to such a great profession.  His values are with the people he is surrounded by, and regardless if they are Buyer/Seller Clients or REALTORS® under his managerial guidance, the honest rewards of the profession come from looking after them. “If you look after the people, the people will look after you”.  He believes in being available to both his Clients and REALTORS® and understands that this business does NOT function on a 9 to 5 schedule.  

Darren has re-established himself back here in Victoria over the past few years, embracing the all the city and Vancouver Island offer.  Downtown is where he lives and thrives, so if you find yourself at one of the city’s spectacular cafes, restaurants, happy hour highlight or just walking the street, and you happen to see him, say hello!
